Little brother

Because I'm a pushover and don't have enough mouths to feed or fur to clean up, we got a little brother for Libby last spring.

Meet Milo.

Milo is an Australian shepherd and poodle mix (Aussiedoodle). Coincidentally, we got him from the same breeder as Libby.

(Side note: I would've loved to adopt a rescue, but I have bad allergies and needed 100% assurance of the breed/mix, which unfortunately isn't possible with most rescues. I'd hate to adopt a sweetheart and then be unable to keep him for health reasons.)

Anyhoozle, we brought Milo home late last February just before the pandemic.

I wondered if some sort of maternal instinct would kick in for Libby. Would she cuddle and care for the pup like a mama would?

The short answer: No.

As much as Milo wanted to snuggle or play, Libby Was. Not. Having. It.

She was growling the whole time I was taking this picture.

Libby keeps a watchful eye on little brother, Milo.

It's been several months now and the growling has largely stopped, but its only because Milo now knows his boundaries.

But he still pushes them occasionally.

Like laying on Libby's bed, for example.

A work in progress, I guess.
